Chris Roemersma is a partner at Toole Katz & Roemersma, LLP. Chris has over 17 years experience serving companies in the real estate and construction industry. His experience includes providing assurance, tax, and consulting services to real estate developers and owners, real estate investment funds, contractors, architecture firms, and engineering firms.
He has extensive experience working on financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations as well as performing employee benefit plan audits. Chris regularly communicates best practices to clients based on his industry expertise. He provides various assurance and accounting services that focus on high-risk areas specific to the real estate and construction industry, including, internal control assessments, agreed upon procedures, construction project audits, and forensic accounting services.
Previously, Chris worked at a top 12 U.S. national accounting firm focusing on real estate and construction companies. In addition, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for a general contractor for two years.
Chris volunteers for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (“AICPA”) where he reviews real estate and construction industry risk alerts and audit guide publications prior to issuance by the AICPA. He also served as a part-time professor at Rutgers University teaching Construction Accounting. Chris is a member of NAIOP, Associated Builders and Contractors, AICPA, and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
Chris is a CPA, received an MBA from Strayer University, and his Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Mount St. Mary’s University.
