Toole Katz & Roemersma, LLP is a leading tax, audit, and consulting firm focused on serving businesses headquartered in the Washington, DC metropolitan region.  We are seeking full-time tax managers with at least 4 years of public accounting experience.  The successful candidates will be offered a competitive compensation and benefit package.  We provide our people with an entrepreneurial and development focused environment.  Our size and client base will allow for challenging assignments and growth opportunities including working directly with our partners and directors on certain engagements and developing professional relationships with our clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead client relationships on day to day tax matters supporting partners with service execution and development of extended services.
  • Plan and participate in tax projects and compliance on various middle market client engagements.
  • Consult on technical matters and special projects in various areas of corporate and flow through taxation, accounting methods, ASC740, and implications to owners.
  • Research and consult on various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries when requested, make recommendations to the client for consideration.
  • Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based upon knowledge gained relative to the client's operations, processes, and business objectives.
  • Proactively build relationships and communicate effectively with the client to provide superior client service.
  • Team with partners to develop new business opportunities.
  • Train, supervise, and manage staff through counsel, guidance, and coaching.  Evaluate performance and work efforts; participate in performance review process.
  • Manage engagements and projects to achieve specific revenue and profit objectives through the management of the client's budget, invoicing for time incurred and collecting fees billed.
  • Willingness to invest in professional development through active participation in training sessions and networking events both internally and externally.
  • Assist with activities to recruit individuals to the firm and participate in the firm's Employee Referral Bonus Program.
  • Demonstrate excellent team skills, positive attitude, and high ethical standards.
Qualifications:
  • BS/BA degree in Accounting
  • CPA required
  • Be self-motivated
  • Masters of Science in Taxation is a plus
